WHAT CAMPERS ARE SAYING:

"Mosh was my first real sense of community. A place where i felt completely safe and as if
I belonged entirely. I finally found people who understood everything i grew up with.
It is the best feeling ever."

"I am so glad to be part of the Camp Shomria family.
I honestly can not wait to return this summer."

"I feel very lucky that my parents are able to send me to Camp Shomria.
I have made a lot of friends there. The food is great and the counselors are wonderful!"

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING:

“Camp Shomria is an oasis for my children, as it was for me when I was a camper there.
The richness comes from the exceptional warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm of the community.
It is a welcoming place that encourages connection with peers, the environment, Jewish culture, and creativity.
I hope my children send their children there too!"

"Camp Shomria literally changed the lives of our daughters, in a very positive way.  They have both formed meaningful, life lasting, relationships with other campers and counselors, “madrichim”, which are invaluable.  The invigorating activities, inspiring discussions, warm and open environment, friendly and enabling atmosphere, etc. provided for not only wonderful summer experience and fond memories but also helped our daughters mature and grow up on so many levels.  What a wonderful experience."

"I have been sending my children, Michael and Sophia, to Camp Shomria for the past four years. We started out sending for 10 days, then 2 weeks, then 3 weeks and this year we are sending them for 4 weeks.
They absolutely love it!  My kids tend to be on the shyer side and I was concerned about them making friends.  They not only made friends, but I am pretty sure these are going to be life-long friends. They attend each others Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, they have activities all through the year including the weekends away in the winter and in the fall.
I am so excited that I found a camp where they feel comfortable, learn, and have lots of fun.I have friends that have sent their kids away to other camps only to have them return
dissatisfied.  Sending my children to Camp Shomria was one of the best things I could do for them."

"My time at Camp Shomria and in Hashomer Hatzair have impacted every single aspect of my life as an adult - from the profession I chose, to my continued pursuit of social justice, to the way I have raised my daughters. One of things I am proudest of is the privilege of being involved with Hashomer Hatzair for more than five decades, as a chanicah, madricha, rosh ken, mazkirat tnuah, member of a garin to Kibbutz Harel and parent of three shomrot. I feel especially privileged to have served as chair of our board of directors, which has allowed me to see that the vision of the first shomrot and shomrim is still being realized - working for socialism, ZIonism and a strong humanitarian connection to Judaism, and above all, continuing to honor the power of youth to achieve these ideals."

"I am so happy my son is now going to mosh and ken like I did when I was a teenager!
I feel it has been a wonderful place for him to make friends and learn about Israel.
The kids are sweet, thoughtful, down to earth and affectionate.  He says his favorite friends are there. He loves to sing, hike, run around, play games, learn about Israel, and he even dances contemporary and Israeli folk dancing!
I know he will make lifelong friends and it will help to teach him valuable skills such as teamwork, social and environmental responsibility, empathy, and eventually leadership!
Jude says some of his favorite things are the night games, gaga and he also likes the teamwork involved."

"I have been to a few camps when I was younger, but none of them give the experience that Camp Shomria gives. It truly teaches kids to be leaders, to be active in their community, to be confident in themselves and their nationality, and to be compassionate to others. It's a unique experience, that you aren't able to find anywhere else. It may not have the bells and whistles of other Jewish camps, but it has something more special. I went here, my nieces then went here and ran the camp, and now my son goes here. Every Shabbat, is not a religious experience, but a holiday. A celebration.  Till this day, I'm still in touch with my friends that went to Shomria.  There's no experience more special in the world than spending your summers there."
